Stabby McKnife here! I'm super exxcited to announce the HORRORFAN websites "MOST ANTICIPATED HORROR PROJECT OF 2015".......ASH VS. EVIL DEAD. If you have not yet seen the original Evil Dead trilogy you need to remedy that immediately. drop what you are doing, and go rent or buy The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. Lock yourself in a dark room for a night and treat your self to the greatest horror comedy trilogy ever made.
Now that I have hyped Evil Dead enough for the noobs who have not yet seen it...those who have seen it know the awesome potential of this show. It will be starring Bruce Campbell. It will be directed by Sam Raimi....it will be epic. Here are some exerpts from an interview with Bruce Campbell on the subject of his new show:
“Something we’re doing is taking the horror parts very seriously,” promises Campbell. “And it’s going to cause Ash—this crabby middle-aged man who doesn’t want to get dragged back into this—a lot of problems. He’s not the Ash he used to be… Ash has survivor’s guilt. You could have a heyday with his PTSD. He’s a war vet. He doesn’t want to talk about it, and he’ll lie about that stump on his hand to impress the ladies. This is a guy who’s got some issues. He’s emotionally stunted. But he’s the guy you want in the foxhole next to you… He continues being a trash-talking know-it-all who doesn’t really know anything.”
“The beauty of Starz is there’s no content issues,” says Campbell. “Let’s face it: Fans want the carnage and the mayhem. So we intend to give them quite the explosion of viscera. Most of it directed at me, unfortunately. We want it to taste exactly like the ‘Evil Dead’ movies, and I think with the setup with Starz we can do exactly that. We also don’t have to cut to a stupid Dodge commercial.”
Ash vs. Evil Dead coming to Starz in 2015

"The Purge part 3???" Updated 10/7/14
This just in: They have just green lit a "Purge 3". This is hardly a surprise as the fine folks in charge of The Purge franchise made a huge profit off of both movies. James DeMonaco, writer and director of the first two Purge films has been hired to write and direct a third entry.
Fans should be excited about the potential for a third Purge film because of the huge improvement between Purge 1 and 2.
Purge has always been an interesting concept: What would happen if we lived in a society that had an "annual purge" an annual 12 hour period where all crime would be legal. Including murder. I'm curious to see how a third Purge film would play out.
Cooties (update)

Hey Jerks! Guess what! The producer's of upcoming horror film "Cooties" like their film so much they gave the film makers money to shoot a new ending!
Rumor has it that while they loved the original cut of the film, the original ending was not very good due to budget constraints. It seems as if the producers wanted to remedy that problem.
A release date for the dvd/ blu ray has not been officially set yet for "Cooties" but the film makers say "no earlier than January. But most likely January."

Rob Zombie's next film will be entitled: "31"
Rob Zombie has announced his next film that he will write and direct. It's going to be called "31".
The film was described by Zombie as "very violent. dirty. a fan pleaser. Most Similar in content to 'The Devils Rejects' of all his previous films but also very different from his other films.
The premise is as follows: For five days leading up to halloween someone is kidnapped and brought to a secret location known only as "Murderworld." Once there the victims will have to fight to the death with various weapons. It will be a free for all violent sick movie. Sounds fun.
31 is going to be at least partially crowd funded. Rob Zombie is offering various incentives depending on how much you donate. Some of the incentives vary from being an extra in the film, to signed posters etc.

Tusk (Trailer Premier!)

See No Evil 2:
Release date and Trailer Premier!!!
See no evil 2 will be available on Digital HD and Video On Demand Friday, October 17th, and on Blu-ray (plus Digital HD) and DVD (plus Digital) on Tuesday, October 21st.
The Original See no evil was a pretty fun little horror flick. This sequel will have the pleasure of scream queen Danielle Harris (Rob Zombie's Halloween 1-2, Hatchet 2-3) starring in it along with wrestler "Kane" playing the killer 'Jacob Goodnight'.
Here is the trailer for See No Evil 2:

Cabin Fever: Patient Zero (coming REALLY soon)
Cabin Fever: Patient Zero comes out August 1st, 2014.
This is the third movie in the "Cabin Fever" franchise. The first Cabin Fever was directed by Horror Superstar Eli Roth. It was a decent horror flick. The second movie was kind of a hunk of shit. Hopefully this third entry can breath new life into the Cabin Fever franchise.
The second and third films were not directed by Eli Roth.
This will be the next "big" horror movie in theatres following the current one which is playing nationwide now: Purge: Anarchy.
Stabby McKnife says: meh. not too excited about this. But at the very least it should have plenty of blood and gore and the odds are strong (based on the past entries in the franchise) that there should be some titties and ass floppin' around in this flick. Here is the trailer:

Leprechaun: Origins
(coming soon)
Leprechaun: Origins comes to theatres August 29th! I'm surprised this wasn't a SHORT film. Ha! moving on.
If you have seen any of the other (6 films) in the Leprechaun franchise then you know that these are pretty much unintentional horror comedies. The first Leprechaun film had Jennifer Anniston in it before she went on to make "Friends".
The rest of the franchise is mostly cheesy but fun. With this new "Origins" entry the franchise will be rebooted and taken in a more serious and scarier direction.
While I'm sure there will be a few midget jokes. (how could there not be, seriously?) It seems as though they will be kept to a bare minimum.
Good luck Leprechaun franchise, and God's speed. Here's the trailer:

The Green Inferno (update)
The Green Inferno comes out September 5th, 2014. This has the potential to be one of the best horror movies of the year. Written and directed by Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) this film marks Eli's first directorial effort since Hostel 2 in 2007.
The Green Inferno is about a group of student activists that travel from New York City to the Amazon to save the rainforest. Once they arrive in this vast green landscape, they soon discover that they are not alone - and that no good deed goes unpunished. There are cannibals living in the rainforest.
Stabby McKnife says: Eli Roth obviously was inspired by films like "Cannibal Holocaust" and "Cannibal Ferox" as well as other cannibal exploitation movies from the 70's and 80's. Hopefully Eli can bring a fresh modern take to the cannibal genre, which hasn't really hade many films made about it recently. (unless you count the crappy sequels to The Silence of the Lambs).
Here is the trailer for The Green Inferno:

Tusk (update)
Tusk (written and directed by Kevin Smith) gets a release date and a poster.
September 19th, 2014. 9/19/14.
If your a fan of horror comedy and/or Kevin Smith (Smith directed Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Red State) then you'll probably enjoy this flick.
Starring Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment ( the creepy kid from the 6th sense!) and Genesis Rodriguez. (Rodriguez is smoking hot and latina.)
Stabby McKnife says: Kevin Smith is mostly known for writing and directing dialogue heavy comedies with tons of dick and fart jokes, recurring lovable character's (like jay and silent bob! snooch to the mutha fuckin nooch!) and smart, sharp conversations about life, sex, pop culture and whatever the fuck Smith feels like waxing idiotic/genius about.
Red State was his first excursion into the horror genre. I thought it kicked Nicki Minaj sized ASS. It starred Michael Parks and John Goodman. It was very underrated and was easily one of the smartest, most thought provoking and brilliantly written horror movies made in recent memory. Lot's of interesting conversations about christian extremism and cult religious fanatic's. Load's of christian's were highly offended by Red State. But in my opinion if your film ain't offending or shocking anyone it probably ain't worth a hot squirt of shit.

Insidious: Chapter 3
This highly anticipated sequel will be released on May 29th, 2015. It will be the directorial debut of Leigh Whannell. Leigh is an excellent horror writer. He wrote : Saw 1-3, Dead Silence, Insidious 1-2 (he's also writing Chapter 3)
Leigh Whannell also has a neat horror film coming out later this year called "Cooties" that he wrote and stars in about elementary school kids turning into zombies and trying to eat the faculty in the school! yikes! sounds awesome as balls!

Open Windows (update and trailer)
Open Windows starring Elijah Wood and Sasha Grey comes out September 29th, 2014. It looks creepy as balls. also...
Stabby McKnife says!: Is it just me or has Elijah Wood been kicking ass in the horror genre lately? Maniac was fucking great. Grand Piano was super intense and awesome, he was a creepy shit in Sin City and he's going to be in "Cooties" later this year playing a teacher who has to deal with an elementary school full of little kid zombies!
anyways here's the trailer for Open Windows:
