Greetings human flesh bags. This is your host, Stabby McKnife. Typing this from the cozy confines of my cave in the middle of the woods. I sit atop my couch made from stitched together human skin and I type merrily with my blood stained fingers. Tis the season for murder without reason. I digress. It's the holidays. What better time for a christmas flavored horror movie? I'm going to see Krampus in theaters today. I'll review it soon and let you cretins know if it was any good.
You want to know a good christmas themed horror movie? Black X-mas starring Mary Elizabeth Winestead was a solid horror flick. Plenty of gory, orginal x-mas themed murders. Fun plot. Plenty of gorgeous soroity chicks getting sliced and diced. If you're dreaming of a red christmas "Black X-mas" is the way to go. Curl up with some hot coa-coa and check that underappreciated horror gem out.
You may notice that this is only my second blog entry for 2015. I'd like to give a good reason for this but honestly.... I'm just a lazy mother fucker. There have been good horror movies that have been released in this year 2015.... I just haven't really been in the mood to write about them. Ba hum bug.
Insidious 3 was good. It was another solid entry in the Insidious franchise. More importantly it was Leigh Whannel's directoral debut. Leigh has written some neat horror flicks ( Saw 1-3, Insidious, Cooties) I look foward to what else Leigh can do in the directors seat in the future.
One thing I feel strongly about is this: The Editor was the best new horror film of 2015. While it was a horror comedy (and really more of a parody than anything) it was still effective as a horror flick. Lots of blood and gore and some of the best nudity you'll ever see in a horror movie. But more than anything The Editor was just a joy to watch. It was expertly made. I've become a huge fan of Astron 6 this year. Not only have they made The Editor but other highly underappreciated gems like "Father's day" and "Manborg". Look out for any and all movies Astron 6 makes going foward. They are a film making group from canada with assloads of talent. No one is making better horror comedys with excessive gore and nudity better than they are right now.
Anyways I'll be on this site more frequently in 2016. I'm looking foward to another year of groovy horror movies and shows. I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to a few amazing horror shows that have come out this year. In order of quality: 1. Ash Vs. Evil Dead 2. Scream Queens 3. American Horror Story: Hotel. All three of these shows have been kicking ass.
This is Stabby McKnife signing off. Kill you next year!
